Don't Ask Me Why- Christmas Lyrics in June

Don't know why, but I have been totally into Christmas music the past couple days. Can't get enough of the songs that praise the arrival of the Christ child. The lyrics really deserve a perusal even outside of the season for their joy and sentiment is always a great reminder that we should be thankful everyday that Jesus humbled Himself for us.

What Child is This Lyrics

What child is this, who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!
So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come peasant king to own Him,
The King of kings, salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise the song on high,
The Virgin sings her lullaby:
Joy, joy, for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

Silent Night Lyrics

Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright round yon virgin mother and child,
Holy infant so tender and mild,
sleep in Heavenly peace! sleep in Heavenly peace!

Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight;
glories stream from Heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia, Christ, the Saviour, is born!
Christ, the Saviour, is born!

Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God, Love's pure light
radiant beams from Thy Holy face,
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.
